Spec, I actually did talk to Shirine a little bit last night. I went over to the bar to apologize. She said that sort of stuff doesn't bother her. Apparently, I'm also coming over again for dinner some time in the near future, and I'm bringing the dessert. (Or maybe I *am* the dessert, I don't know.) She also let me stroke her hair for a couple of minutes before I left.
Personally, I think it *did* bother her, but if she wants to play it cool, that's fine. For my part, all I need to do is not do the same thing I did Monday night any more, whether or not she claims it's okay. It's not okay with me, so I won't do it.
I'm satisfied with the situation as it appears to stand today. The friendship with Shirine appears to still be growing, and everything up to this point has either been forgiven or doesn't need to be forgiven.
