Party by myself brynne: Ok,
Here's what I HATE about being single...going to function alone, knowing you will be one of a few singles. I hate that, I know, I know...so what, go have fun, who knows who you'll meet, etc etc. But I really dread going to functions, I am literally forcing myself to go b/c it's my college roommate that I haven't seen in a while & she just got engaged (been thru a divorce too so we have been thru a lot)...
Why I am happy for her, sometimes it's sad to know that I haven't found that yet & I'm still attending functions SOLO. I am dating a nice guy, but we aren't serious & he's out of town anyway.
So wish me luck...I'm going to make the best of it...
sorry to be a downer
Hope
Re:Party by myself cloud: Nothing wrong with being a downer.
At least, you've got the guts/will to go in the first place.
Some people would just stay home and watch movies every day (hey, that's me) and not take a chance in getting out there and not letting the divorce get you down.
Re:Party by myself amess: Hi Hope,
You're not a downer, nobody here is exactly looking at blue skies, that's why we're here. I know what you mean, and how you feel. I hate going to places with my married friends, and to functions like that. I'm still humiliated, and feel very much left out, now that I've been kicked out of the club. It's a world of couples, and you're bound to feel that way. It will get better.
Re:Party by myself JTS: Downer??? But I know exactly how you all are feeling. What I hate the worst is all of the "perfect" people that all of my married friends have or bring for me. I've met some nice people but it just makes me feel like I am incapable of finding anyone on my own when they do that.
Re:Party by myself skavachi: Well, I just killed all of my married friends and got new single ones...seemed to work out well for me! :P
It is the pits though. You have to sit there watching them kiss all over eachother and be all happy...grrrrr.
As I am still very happy for my friends, I know where you are coming from Hope. Someday, it'll all turn around. Probably when you are least expecting it. Life has a funny way of making things happen. Hang in there and keep smiling!
