Re:Post Divorce Professinal Help???? scrdbyelmo: i have been seeing my counselor for 2 years now and it DOES help i only see her every month or two...i can look back and tell things that she's taught me and i've used...
Re:Post Divorce Professinal Help???? tazme: well my appt this morning went very well!! I felt totally comfortable w/her. She is actually in the same practice as the guy I was seeing, so she already had his notes & pretty much knew the basic. It made it A LOT easier than starting a square one again.

I think I'm going to get a lot out of it. She asked me what I wanted from her. I told her that I needed to understand why I would stay in a marriage that really hasn't been healthy for me. He wasn't abusive or anything, just never supported me in my interests, always putting me down, etc.

I think it will work out pretty good! I'll keep you posted!

Tazme :)

Re:Post Divorce Professinal Help???? whathef?: That's great!
Be patient amd allow things to progress as they do.
It's a long process, sometimes.

Re:Post Divorce Professinal Help???? sandy: I am happy you have positive experience about your therapist. I believe it helps. It helps you say the things you may be ashamed to say to your friends. I started a therapy with my soon to be ex husband but he quit after second appointment. I think he went in the first one just because of guilt he felt. Therapy helps if you go for right reasons. I continued to go and tomorrow is my second appointment. I feel at peace after talking to my therapist which does not happen often. Just remember we are strong and we will overcome this and find happines and relationships and tomorrow will be better than today

Re:Post Divorce Professinal Help???? seth: I'm calling my employee assistance hotline tomorrow--one of my coworkers slipped the pamphlet into my mailbox today.....

I hate therapists but I'm not letting this go another day.
