Is this hypothetical person sorry, or not? crushedman: The following events are made up and not related to any events or circumstances that any of us are privy to. Any resemblance to any real life circumstances is purely coincidental and unintended:
A woman (for the sake of this discourse we will call her 'Violet') is married to a man (for the sake of this discourse we will call him 'Harley'). They have been married for 7 years. Throughout the last year, Violet has been stressed out at work. When she comes home, in order to make herself feel better, she takes a ruler and beats Harley over the head with it several times. Obviously, Harley is upset about it, and gets more and more upset about it everyday. At first, Violet refuses to aknowledge that the beatings are a problem. She says it's a normal reaction to stress. Eventually, though.. she realizes that she is in the wrong and asks Harley for his forgiveness. After a year of this mistreatment, Harley is one pissed off dude. He loves his wife and wants the marriage to work, so he agrees to try and forgive her. Imagine his surprise when the very next night he comes home, he receives the same beating from Violet! After the beating is finished, she apologizes and says how difficult this ordeal has been for her. She confesses that it is difficult to look in the mirror for her. The guilt is tearing her up. Then, the next night they repeat the same routine. Harley receives his nightly beating followed my his nightly apology. This goes on indefinetely.
So I ask you the million dollar question, my fellow Ojarians-
is Violet sorry, or not?

Well, no. But "hypothetical abuse"?
A2, We're talking about a make-believe ruler.

My comment wasn't directed at you. ;)
Who cares if the woman in this situation is sorry or not. The man needs to get out of that relationship. Why the hell does he stay? That's what I want to know.
