Former versions of self katbuttkid: I watched some video footage that my BF was in last night. Ok, so he's older than me, and so back when this video was being filmed it was 1990/91, he was about 30, 31 or so. He looked SO FUNNY! He had thick black hair cut like a helmet on his head, and really long in the back... AND he had a moustache. Like a big black thick one!
He was younger than I am now when the footage was filmed, but I swear, I do not remember the early 90's being so... funny! LOL
I can't get the picture of him wiht the big proud mullet and moustache out of my head. Every time he tried to kiss me, I'd laugh a little and think "I am kissing that rocker guy who looks like he's about to peel out in his Z-28!
He's seen pictures of me from back then too. I had short boy's cuts, or a bald head. I'm sure he's just as weirded out, so I can't hold it against him. But I had to share this because it's given me HUGE perspective into him, as he is now.
Strange.

Re: Former versions of self Topaz: Did he look like Freddie Mercury from Queen? Or more like Robin Williams during the rainbow suspenders phase, with a moustache?
My brother used to have a big bushy Latino-Afro that he wore with a Fu Manchu moustache. He thought he looked superbad until someone said, "Hey, Super Mario Brother!" So now he wears his hair real short.
Sorry I'm not being more helpful!

Like Freddy Mercury!
LOL
I didn't recognize it, but yeah, TOTALLY what he looked like!
No wonder I keep cracking up. I nevre could take Freddie seriously! As a musician, yes, but...
Probably one weirdest part is I realized yesterday that the way he's acting on hte video and his body language-- he was more kinetic then than he is now-- is a lot like my XH's. That is a little unsettling.
Especially now to realize I keep going for Freddie Mercury types!
But it's sorta like "O , ok. I know this type of man"
Or do I? That was 16 years ago.

Re: Former versions of self Topaz: Speaking of body language, one thing that I do miss about my ex was his physical energy/body language/talent for dance and physical comedy. He could do a hilarious imitation of Freddie Mercury playing the piano while pointing at his butt.
Did you know that Freddie Mercury was 1) Indian (real first name was Farukh, I forget his last name) and 2) gay?
Re: Former versions of self katbuttkid: I knew about the gay part.
I didn't know about the indian part!
In any case, something happened a while ago-- he was in an accident and was given a med that he;s allergic to, and had a bad reaction and was hospitalized for a long time. he lost a lot of his strength and never fully got it back. I guess I can't really compare him to my XH because he's not like that now. But to see how he was... I wonder if it goes beyond the physical/kinesthesic quality of them both, you know?
I'm actually a little disconcerted today about it.
Is that weird?
They don't remind me of each other in any other way. And if I hadn't seen the video, I'd never know.
And the bottom line realy is: so what? Is it so bad that he has this trait my XH has that I admire?
