I never stopped caring or loving the STBX. We just forgot how to get along, and things have deteriorated to the point that we cannot have a 30 second conversation without it becoming a yelling match, and both of us end up with high anxiety as a result. I cannot go back. I know that. Trust me on that one. Someday I'll post the full story. I actually posted it once, under another user name, and when Michael figured out who I was, he deleted the entire post (I was banned from Ojar at the time).
Although there are still feelings for the stbx, they are slowly but steadily fading away to nothing more than a burning ember, which itself is almost extinguished.
Most say I started a new relationship too fast. That I'm afraid to be alone. It's probably all true. However, I care for this new girl a lot, she is aware of my situation, and the potential risk of losing me, although that risk was much greater a few months ago.
I guess she figures I'm worth it. She herself has dated a lot of guys since her divorce, and she says I'm the only one she has met that she really cares for...and she's not really "second". The STBX and I are finished, and we are basically no contact. No more than a sentence or two per week at best.

He deleted my posts because he was probably sick and tired of me trying to sneak back on using a different user name.
He's given me a second chance. The guy is OK in my book.
