It's a bit naive.

If you tell your spouse "Hey, we're not getting divorced or nuttin', but let's head to the family court and hammer out custody, support and division of assets...just in case", do you think you'd be married for long?

It seems to have been written by a lawyer.

That said, outside of the legal advice, it makes some damn good points about how many modern marriages have become business arrangements at best.

I thought that part was a little strange too.  My parents spent years separated, but not divorced, but they never went to court, that I knew of.  They simply made arrangements between the two of them and were thankfully adult enough to be able to put the needs of myself and my sister above their own needs for spite and bitterness.
