Safety Tips ChrisJane: Just a note to those of you that have suffered domestic violence.
As most of you know I've had my fair share of violence during my marriage. No matter how safe I think I am I always worry what if.
So my son and I sat down and made up a plan of what to do if his dad shows up. Always go to the door opposite of his father. Get to the neighbors ASAP, they all know call the law when you get there and stay there till I get there.
This week I seen this play out and it was the best thing I could ever have done for us. My ex came in town without warning. Drunk/high. Hearing him peel in the driveway we watched to see which door he would enter. My son took off next door as he should.
For the first time I was able to make sure my son was safe before the violence began. Make a plan with your kids to know where to go, talk to your neighbors so they know what to do and how they can help.
Luckily the a/c guy pulled in and kicked the crap out of the ex leaving me with only minor cuts and few bruises. My computer and angel collection got the brunt of his anger this time. Unfortunately the ex got out of there before the law got there, but he has a long list of charges now to add to the divorce contempt charges.
Re:Safety Tips recentlydiscarded: I am so sorry to hear you are going through this. You definitely deserve better than that crap. I hope you take care of yourself and your son no matter what happens. I am also sad that your son has to see his father acting this way. It sounds like jail time may be best for him at this point. I will keep you two in my prayers. Hang in there.

Re:Safety Tips Safetykc: Hey CJ,
Been thinking about you. I am so sorry your X played to form,, :'( :'( :'(
Can't they find and arrest him? What you just went through is what I fear every day for my girlfriend. Her X is just as bad and e are sitting on a powderkeg when he finds out she is dating someone. He is one of those wonderful men who would probably want her dead rather than with anyone else since she won't be with him. Not that he has to hold to the same standards.. :P
It really makes you wonder how this type of scum of the earth reach adulthood without someone putting them down like the rabid dogs they are, or maybe they simply don't pick on the people who will beat them down right back, but their wives. ex-wives, girlfriends, etc. Why don't they peel into a biker bar and try that shit... ???
It makes me sick... :-X
I am so glad you and your tator tot are safe and came through it ok. I hope they put him in jail soon.
Big hugs to you and your son. I just told LL what happened and she said HUGE LONGHORN hugs too. Write either of us if there is anything we can do, even if it's just listen.
Take care tigress and keep those claws out to protect you and your cub. :-*
