Re:Safety Tips in_search_of: CJ, oh my god! I am so sorry to hear this happened (and I am so glad that you are not hurt and that someone happened along to help you) and I am so glad that you have a plan and that you are able to get your son out safely. Now to get to the point in your life that all those sympathies are moot!
Re:Safety Tips amess: D,,nit, CJ, I get so angry to hear that you have to deal with this. I'm glad to hear you have a plan of safety for you and your child. To live under this stress must be a nightmare, and you deserve kudos for fighting it through. I'm wondering though, why isn't this slimeball in jail. How can he just do this when he feels like it? ( oblivious to the laws of this sort of thing). How about the "make my day law"? Would I like to see that! >:(

Re:Safety Tips ChrisJane: Kiddo and I are doing fine. Haven't went home yet though. Staying at a friends house till the ex is arrested.

I heard through others that he was in town again Saturday and no one turned him in nor did the law see him. As I told the sheriff, hmmm, this is election year and you want my vote....don't see that happening.

As the other 2 ex's told me, this is why they only rent and keep moving around. I refuse to let him totally control my life. This will all catch up to him eventually.

Safety, keep your sweetie safe.

LL, you stay safe....I know your stbx is a time bomb --make a safety plan for you and your kiddo. Even though he has not went as far as my ex, I worry about you!

Amess--believe me the Make My Day Law is one that has my vote.
Re:Safety Tips LKN4ME: ChrisJane
I feel for you having to go through all that.
Having a safety plan is the best advise I have heard in a long time! You are very smart to have something in place. My mom did not have one for us growing up and I wish she had.

Will the law go after him or are they "waiting for him to screw up?" - in Missouri they had to wait for my ex to get pulled over for a traffic citation before they could arrest him on the abuse charge. Or, at least that's what they told me. But it was 10 years ago.

Good luck to you, Stay Safe!

Re:Safety Tips ChrisJane: There is a warrant out for the ex's arrest. They will wait till he is picked up for a traffic violation or a local cop see's him and will arrest him. He has enough friends in the police department they tend to look the other way.

Haven't seen or heard from him since. I've shut myself off from his family so they have no idea what is going on in our lives.

Making the plan of where to go was the best way I knew how to protect my son. He is my world and his safety is all that matters.
