Re: Leaning on family

Re: Leaning on family grober: My family has been wonderful during my divorce. At first I relied on them heavily. Sometimes I did worry about wearing them out, but they never gave me the impression that they needed a break.

Over time, I started going to them to get away from all the drama in my life. So they became like a "vacation" from everything. Especially my brother and his wife. They occasionally ask how things are now that I don't come to them with issues all the time. We have all become much closer as a result of this disaster in my life.

It has been great to have this board. You guys have had some of the best (and most objective) advice and support. I have learned a lot from all the hardships and triumphs that are posted here. My family, while great, had no real idea what I was going through. Divorces are rare and infidelity is non-existent in my family. So you guys have given me some balance in the support I've received.

JBH1970, you family wants to help in the time of need. Focus on healing and let them be there for you. Your family ties will be stronger, not weaker when this is finally over.

Take care.
