Re: Getting Worse qmambo: What is crisis mode, is it common or am i odd?

Re: Getting Worse wizer_now: No, you're not odd!

Crisis mode is really just an expression to describe the state that a person is in when they are experiencing severe emotional upset. They may be thinking that they cannot go on, or their work may be affected, they are having difficulty performing daily tasks, perhaps there are thoughts of suicide..that kind of thing. All quite common, ESPECIALLY in folks that are going through a separation or divorce.

If you have insurance, try calling your insurance company. They usually have a department for mental health. If no insurance, then perhaps call a therapist right out of the yellow pages. It's like throwing a dart, but it's a place to start. Or maybe you know of a friend that went through a tough situation and can recommend a doctor? That's all I got right now.

If you are having suicidal thoughts, then you really need to speak with someone NOW. And that someone is a suicide hotline.

here's a link

Rapid cycling obsessive thoughts like that are most likely due to high anxiety. I would suggest that you speak to your MD at the walk in clinic about prescribing a fast acting anti anxiety medication such as xannex. .25mg is a typical dose, and it works very fast. It's good for the short term, but you might need something long acting to get you through the next few months.
