She's not elite. Being an astronaut doesn't make one elite. They're smart to a degree, but not as smart as the engineers who designed their spacecraft. They're competent to a degree, yes, but not as competent as, say, a decent neurosurgeon. In fact, all they have is a government badge on their suit and an assurance of political correctness. No offense to astronauts on the whole, I think they're generally in a cool job and aren't bad types, but they aren't the cream of the cream by any stretch.
But, the media will focus on this, and I say, good. Because it brings down NASA in people's eyes, and that alone is a good thing.

So your point is that certain aerospace engineers and neurosurgeons are better than astronauts? LOL!
I still think that those engineers and those neurosurgeons have been and will be involved in the same drama that goes along with cheating. I think human beings are UNIVERSALLY a little bonkers when it comes to being jilted.
