I tend to only hang out with people who are less intelligent than I am. It makes me look smarter.

You know, I used to do that too. My stbxw isn't exactly the sharpest crayon in the box, and I realized that I wasn't being intellectually challenged by her. I mean, we could have conversations and such, bu they just weren't interesting enough to capture my attention for hours and *WANT* to learn more about a subject so I can continue the debate.
I have a real thirst for knowledge. When I'm slackin' around the office, I'm often times surfing wikipedia just to learn more about..just anything. Don't get me wrong, I have some really dumb-as-bricks friends..but those are friends for things beyond intelligent conversation.
My next girlfriend/wife/whatever is going to be my intellectual equal.
Re: The Pub 2/9 just_me_detroit: I'm the most intelligent person I know.
Re: The Pub 2/9 big_daddy: My buddy Rob...dude is one smart cookie. He's kind of an odd one, but he's smarter than hell.
Re: The Pub 2/9 surprised: That's a tough one. My ex is pretty smart. His best friend (who I would still consider a friend if I saw him) is getting his PhD, so he's pretty bright. My closest friend is pretty quick, she's one of those people who picks up things really easily.
Re: The Pub 2/9 2be: My close group of friends in high school were all very smart... all of them were in the top 5-10% of the class, honors, genius level IQs, blah blah blah. I was the mostest dummest of 'em all. ;) The first woman I dated after my divorce was genius level IQ, but that didn't help her severe emotional issues. LOL And I'd say my current girlfriend is VERY smart.
