Re: Generalizations and frozen foods Mr. Incognito: I dunno if it is an instinctual trait for men to want to "fix" something per se or not, but maybe when you tell these particular people something, they dont know if you are asking for advice or if your just venting.
I can only speak for myself but I have a hard time just nodding if someone talks to me. I think that maybe they are not really trying to give you advice but rather trying to have a conversation with you.
For example if someone says to me,
"Hey Mr. Incognito, I wish I had more shelf space." I would attempt to make suggestions as to how they might be able to store their stuff rather than say. "Thats just to bad. Hope you work it out." and then abruptly go back to what I was just doing before you told me about the problem.

JMD - Remember when I called you out on my blog??? You did exactly what I'm talking about now. Duh!
Here's how the convo went about the de-clutter:
Him: I saw your blog post today. How's it going?
Me: Good, just reorganizing the cabinets so I can maximize on the little bit of space in here. How's your night going?
Him: You should get a shelving unit like this one *embedded picture*. I put tons of stuff on mine.
Me: That would be great if I had space for it. Remember? No room?? LOL So what are you doing?
Him: Maybe you should put some of your frozen stuff outside in the cold. I do that here in the garage......
And we all know where it went from there.
Now, gentlemen...where in that did it seem like I was asking for advice or even had an issue that I was worried about?
