Big Brother Is Watching
.

Big Brother Is Watching katelyn: I've never done anything bad in my whole damn life. I was homeschooled... grew up in church, very sheltered. I've never even had a traffic violation.

Unfortunately I do have a bitchy sense of humor. And I posted a sarcastic remark on my private password protected LiveJournal account that alluded to bringing a shotgun to work. I think my exact words were, after venting about other annoying things in my life, "And I feel like taking a shotgun to work tomorrow being that <company> is on site. I still can't find my paperwork."  And thats IT.
Do I know it's wrong to make such jokes? Hell yes. But I'll do as I please on my HOME computer. I haven't sold my soul to corporate america just yet. I still have an identity. At least I locked it. Is it my fault the world is a place where companies can hack your shit?

So, that being said here's the build-up:
My client (who I've been with for nearly 4 yrs) decides to change contracts and go with another company. New company comes in, and starts the application process with myself and my 8 employees. This process is ridiculous, and almost everyone wanted to quit.
I signed paperwork stating I did not have the Bird Flu. I had to hand over medical records... such as, all doctor visits in the last 10 yrs: why, where, who and how much.
I had to get 3 people to testify that I was not imprisoned or institutionalized during the 3 yrs I stayed home with my son after he was born.
Not only did they have to sign the paper, but they had to take it into a bank and actually get it notarized.
I did the 520 question MMP (?) "personality" test (weird psych test that asks really creepy and disgusting questions).
I filled out a 27 page application, with 4 "neighborhood references" and 4 regular references, as well as all information about my family (phone, name, social, address, phone #.
I had to attend training to renew my Medic card simply because it didnt have the Red Cross name on it. This is a 2 day class. My card hadnt even expired.
They also LIED to us that we were getting raises. Entry level for this position is 10.00/hr. They actually LOWERED the wage. I made alot more because I was Supervisor. But still. The process is the same for everyone.
This new company was ridiculous and gruelling. So yeah, I fricken blew off steam and make a FRICKEN JOKE to my personal diary that you have to a) have a registered account on LJ and b) be on my authorized list to even VIEW.

Cont'd....
Re: Big Brother Is Watching katelyn: This company is run by retired FBI agents. My brother in law is high  up in my current company and when I told him all this, he told me that he had figured I wouldn't make the switch because new company doesn't hire women for lead positions......  He knows this by rubbing elbows with them.
How convenient they let me do all the legwork of the switch and then the day before somehow they hack my LJ...
Guess what I wasn't even working for them yet. I had an application submitted. What a joke. They called me AT WORK and dropped this bomb on me. Then they called my client boss and told him. The regional made it sound like I just broadcasted this comment for the whole fricken internet to read. I'm not an IDIOT. There's 800 ppl in that building and I knew the rumor would spread that Security Supervisor got canned because she made threats about shotguns. How humiliating.

So I did what any red blooded corporate american woman would do. I went home and downed 2 bottles of wine. LOL....
I had scheduled the next day (Thursday) off to go to the spa and get my hair done. I knew Friday morning I was going to be "talked to" in person by this new company. I didnt know what they were gonna do. While my color was setting, my assistant sup. called me and told me that the Regional also scheduled a meeting with "G"... who is an entry level employee of mine that used to own his own security business. He's okay but he knows nothing of the site. Nothing as far as how to manage it. He barely knows enough to be a regular guard.
I had heard from another source they had overheard my client boss on the phone stating "G" might make a good 'replacement'.....
Yeah, thanks - ass. After 4 yrs of blood sweat and tears. You bail on me because of a damn joke. I don't blame him really. The regional is a manipulating bastard.
Why should I even come in the next day to get "talked to" by regionals... f-ck you! I reject you before you can reject me.
So after my appointment I marched into the building, gathered my things, deleted all my files (make your own damn files, G) and said my goodbyes to my client boss. When he asked if Regional Man knew that I would not be coming back... I stated:  "f-ck Regional".
Ha.

I can't even tell you people how violated I feel. I started getting paranoid. It does a number on you. I started wondering if my cell was being monitored. I mean you never know!!!

In any case... Its been 6 days since I left. The site is having a meltdown, it's a total mess. My employees are loyal to me and report every last gory detail. Regional Man told everyone that I made threats against the company. Whatever, you're going down. OMG is that considered a threat? I'd better clarify I don't mean I'm killing anyone. It's just that no one likes you and they're all going to walk.  Pompous ass. I heard Regional Man actually had to stand post like a regular guard on Saturday. With NO training. That place is going to crash and burn. Dang it feels good to be a gangsta. Ha!

Cheers.

Re: Big Brother Is Watching trapped: Dude thats bullshit

I deal with high security/BB as well and it pisses me off.

Sorry youre dealing with this ridiculous-ness.
Re: Big Brother Is Watching katelyn: Thank you. And yeah - TRUST ME... LiveJournal is going to get a VERY colorful letter from me.

I am also going to print the Terms of Service and give it to a laywer to look over. I can read legal lingo somewhat but I just want to be CRYSTAL CLEAR on whether or not it is legal for them to allow a company to read something I had password protected.

I seriously sit here and figure they are reading all of this. And all of my IM's... and all my emails. On my HOME computer mind you. It is a really bizarre feeling, but it is very real. To be honest I don't really think I am being paranoid to assume they are watching me at this point. They're probably staked outside my damn house right now. Fricken unbelievable dude.

Lesson learned.
Re: Big Brother Is Watching Lumpy:   This sounds like a blessing in disguise Katelyn. I wouldn't want to work for a company like that. Find something better. I don't think anyone should put up with that level of BS from an employer.
