I'm the step mother octoberbaby: My god how do you deal with your step child's mother. She constantly talks about me or texts and calls my phone to say bad things to me. I can barely take it anymore. Isn't it enough that I treat her son well and love him? Would she rather me not like him and treat him badly? She is obsessed with me and the fact that I'M NOT HIS MOM...this comes out of her mouth on a daily basis. I understand that it's hard for mothers to deal with another women in their childs life, but come on give me a break everyonce in a while. Please tell me how to cope with her? I'm at a breaking point. And by the way she has a new boyfriend who she has another child with, so it can't be about my fiancee.

Oh yes it is!
Re: I'm the step mother td7629: Can I ask what the reason for the breakup of the marriage was?
Re: I'm the step mother thejoker: *cough.
not a parent.. so take what you want from my response.
I am adopted. My parents got me when I was 3 months old. So they have been my parents for my life as far as I am concerned.
My mother still has issues and makes comments about me not being of her blood or gene pool. One would guess that after 29 years she would get over it.. but it has actually gotten worse.
My interpretation would be that her motherhood is threatened by you. As my mother feels threatened by my adoption. Just guessing. She feels that you are a threat or competition. The child enjoys your company more, is more comfortable with you, or is becoming attached to you. Children do those things. Again... I am just guessing
Re: I'm the step mother Magalucia: My husband's first wife was never directly hostile to me but I heard from my step son when he was much younger that she hated me. It was hard to take, but I can't imagine how difficult that must be for you. Over time, she and I had brief conversations and she understood that my only concern was the happiness and welfare of her son. Now that my husband and I are separated I take my daughter to play with her brother at the first wife's house. I think because we think alike in terms of doing what is best for the kids we get along well.
That said, I was not the OW. If you were, I can see the problem and you will have quite an uphill climb.
