Re: Ojar.com MUST change. tripny2k6: Seriously, I believe this site saved my life. I TRULY believe that. It continues to help me through tough times.
I believe that this site could be a HUGE presence on the net. I have thought about this myself as I look down and see the many different new users appear every day. This is site is mainly found via google, etc. I think if the topics were spread out to include nearly everything related to relationships, it would definately grow in size. Add to this, a affordable, effective marketing strategy and it could blow up. Through in a few ads here and there, no pop ups of course, and you can make some money off of this.
Re: Ojar.com MUST change. admin: This may address some the questions.
Some of the objectives that need to be resolved:
-- A lot less of me and a lot more of other people running parts of the site. I want to take a much smaller role.
-- A broader audience and topics (Example: ivillage.com for men and women under 35)
-- More 'social networking' (like myspace/youtube) less dependence on forums. So instead of progressing 'down the boards' you go to that which interests you.
-- A move of the site to ojar.org instead of ojar.com (The ".com" is actually owned by my company and .org can be used whatever comes next without being hindered by the need for the ".com" to be returned)
-- A logical place for old-timers to continue their involvement. This will form part of the discussion, of course.
-- More features and user grown content. Ex: blogs, CMS (content management systems).
Ultimately, I want to spend more time on some other very exciting sites that I am working on that focus on other topics.
