From an Ohioan yet. To be fair, my family is Appalachian mostly. We carry our ignorance with us no matter how educated we become in life. :)

And Appalachian, for our foreign guests, means that my family closely resembles those families you'd find on movies with titles like Deliverance.

Immigrants to civilized U.S. (granparents) were distinctly Appalachinan. Chain wallet carrying, mullet wearing, black t-shirt donning, motorcycle gang member types the first generation out of the hills (their kids). Kinda normal after that, though my sister and I still use "weird" words if you ask most people.
