A mile in our own shoes... Grenn: - Hey guys - I wasn't sure the appropriate forum was for this, but something i read on here earlier got me to thinking, cuz i do that occasionally, and I was wondering...
How many of us here would have been reason for someone to join Ojar?
I did it to someone six years ago, and I do rather regret it - we speak now, but it was a really rough ride to get here. Not long after we aplit, I even got death poetry from her...
...how bout you guys?

.....anybody....?
Re: A mile in our own shoes... tara: Well, this site isn't just divorce -- it's breakup, too -- and I think many of us have broken up with BFs/GFs before. True, when you're just dating, you have no obligation to work it out (and it's often for the best to break up if you're just not feeling it -- otherwise you could end up married and miserable)...but it still hurts when you're on the receiving end of it and you might seek support. Had Ojar existed when I was a teenager, a couple of ex-boyfriends could have found their way here.
That said, I've never cheated, abused anyone, walked away from what my partner considered a good marriage or done the other big betrayal things. But I won't necessarily hold it against someone who has, depending on how long ago it was and what they learned. (My current SO cheated on girlfriends in high school -- but he's in his 30s now, and I trust him based on who he is as a person today. If, however, he'd cheated on his ex-wife, with whom he split in his late 20s due to the inability to be in the same room without arguing loudly, not infidelity, I'd be a lot more wary.)
