Re: I quit! sheydp: It sounds like it is good you are leaving that school, but don’t let an asshole principal sour you on the kids you love and who need a caring teacher. This child is a prime example. This kid needed you there. Be there if another kid needs you too. You can only do that if you continue teaching. Interview principals, not just be interviewed. Ask other teachers where the good ones are. My kids used to have a FANTASTIC principal, now they have a couldn’t-care-less-dweeb. This is the guy who let a kid have a broken finger on the playground, didn’t send them to the nurse. Ugh. The principal can direct the flavor of your work… or a good set of teachers can offset that. Just know what you are getting into – but DON’T give up. You have too good a heart for the children to lose you.

Yes being a nurse is hard and the people die and get hurt and CSD comes in and I send babies homes to families who don't deserve them and tell moved ones the saddest news, but I get paid well and am always in awe of you who are tachers and social workers the very very most.

I could NOT do it...I don't like puke, I can deal with blood *depending on where it is coming from* and oh lord give me some adult who is bitchin about anything...they would find a very pissed Melissa.
