Well that may very well be in some cases my dear, However........not in mine.  I am the best!  After all the first two letters of my name are AA.  :P

If we take the Roman Numerals of each:

M = 1000, O = 0, D = 500, A = 1 (since A is NOT a Roman Numeral but we can assume that it's the FIRST letter of the alphabet, since we're dealing with symbols and relations), then we can assume:

MOM = 2,000

DAD = 999

Of course we can translate this into a number of different ways:

Moms do generally twice the work.  Dads are undervalued in today's society.  There has always been a rough ratio of women to men as 2:1.  If we take the value of the thousands place, 2 + 1 = 3, which would mean that a mom and dad would make 3 in a family.  Men are one short of being grand. 

I don't know, just thought I'd elaborate?
