I don't know that I'd go with the "there's another woman" thing. BUT, there is another woman who seems to be accepting of the pace youy want to take it at right now. I think it would be very hard to explain that to her, without her saying she could do the same. She'd be talking herself into something she really doesn't want. And you'd be doing the same if you held on to her.

I dated this guy a few months back. Great guy. Treated me super well. But I just wasn't ready and didn't see us going anywhere. He wanted to spend every single minute together that we could and it freaked me out. Not what I was looking for. I told him I just wanted to be friends and he didn't like it but he said he would do that. All he ended up was is angry at me all the time.

No, too mean. However along those same lines, maybe you should just be up front and tell her about the other chick. That would surely do it and it's pretty final.
