Re: Help with a "friend" Percy123: It is going cold turkey......

That is the only way to quit.  Relationships are addictions like anything else.  Get off the junk, suffer a little and you will be free.

What do you think this place is....a bunch of junkies working on dealing with their addictions.  Grab a seat.

This is what my counselor told me.  Good advice.

Re: Help with a "friend" BestFriends: Never thought of it like that before, I'm just not used to quitting on something that I want! Gimme time - I expect I'll learn...
Re: Help with a "friend" BestFriends: Hi guys

I know you're going to think I'm being a wimp, but I'm really wondering if I'm doing the right thing. This girl has been a really good friend and I feel like I've just dropped her, which is really unfair as she would never have done that to me even if I'd had a new gf, she told me that so many times and she did stay friends throughout a brief relationship I had a year ago.

There's no question that I was ever her doormat or ever will be - it never worked liked that, we just really enjoyed each other's company but I really don't know if I can cope with hearing about her exploits with other men - which will be inevitable.

Has anyone else been in this situation, if so can it ever work because I feel terrible about cutting her off like this - she doesn't deserve it and I don't want to try and force her into a relationship with me because that could never work out.

Confused....

She's doing her thang, you do yours.  She will survive.
