Pure stupidity is the only answer I can give.

I thought he had changed.  I thought it would be better than being alone.  I thought we could work things out.  I thought that the kids deserved a family.

Basically I thought wrong.

But it did help me to find closure.  After that reconcilliation attempt, I knew that I was better off without him.
