Joint checking account
.

Joint checking account Eric: My soon to be ex-wife likes to use her debit card from our joint checking account alot.  Stupid stuff like $50 haircuts, $200 shopping sprees, going out to eat alot with her new friends, etc etc etc.  We have been seperated for about a month now (she walked out on me) and I just totaled what she has spent and it is well over $600.  This joint account is only my paycheck because she only works part time and of course she puts that money into her personal account.  I have told her to quit using that card unless it is an emergency because being that she left me, I don't feel like I should have to support her while she is doing god knows what without me.

I am in no-contact mode with her and would like to get her off the account.  Is there any way to do without seeing her or does she have to go to the bank and "sign-off" on the joint checking account?

I have thought about making a new account, but I have so many auto-pay bills and stuff setup that would cause me alot of headache if I did that.

Any ideas?  Thanks!
Re: Joint checking account PennyLane: Dude, you need to open up your own account and have your checks put in there.
She's not going to stop using that card regardless of you telling her too.
I was married to someone just like her.  They can't help themselves

Re: Joint checking account thejoker: yeah and she does need to sign off on the account too.

Same shit with my exwife
Re: Joint checking account snkpack: I think closing that account and starting a completely new one is the only way.  Its a lot of headache now, but so's bankruptcy.
Re: Joint checking account td: I had this problem too... You need to open a new account and change your direct deposit to the new account... I suggest doing this asap... You may even want to have your direct deposit stopped until you can get the new one set up.
