Re: Joint checking account Loshyra: Well, banks will not allow you to take her off that account without her being present to sign the forms as well.

Open a new account, with your name only.  Change any direct deposits and bills over to the new account.  Do it fast!
Re: Joint checking account Lumpy: Close the account. It is well worth the headache. If you can't close it without her signature, zero balance it and cancel the auto deposit on your paycheck.

Re: Joint checking account PennyLane: Just remember with your name still on the joint- you'll still share the responsibility of the joint debts.  But at least she wont be able to spend whats not there.  Let the bank know whats going on.  I had to do this exact thing.
Have them put a block so that she can't take out more then whats in there.  My ex would keep on withdrawing acruing numerous over-draft charges.
You can tell them to block her from being able to do this.
Re: Joint checking account Freckles: Insted of Her getting off the Account.

[glow=red,2,300"> Take YOUR Name off and Open a NEW Account in Your Name [/glow">

and have the Paycheck go there

Do This FAST before her Lawyer sends you a Court Order saying You cant change Bank Account Stuff

And keep the Printouts of what she spent give them to Your Lawyer
Re: Joint checking account darkrose: Add another vote to the "close the account" folks.
