My little man Melbel: Within a few minutes of logging out of chat...I hear a loud thud and my son crying.
I go to his room and he *I now know* was turning up the movie he was watching...he was stepping on his desk chair and was leaning to far over and tipped over the armoire and cut his left rib cage. It was very instantly blue and and bleeding. I get baby girl and we are off to the After Hours...given the blood and screaming! I called on the way there and we weren't even checked in and they were taking him to X-ray. Thankfully nothing is broken but they cleaned it, gave him some pain meds, covered and wrapped his ribs. He has bruised his ribs and is in alot of pain!
They gave me a RX for pain and told him to take it easy. He is going to my daddy's tomorrow but then he is off to his dad's. I need J to understand that he can't be running, jumping and screwing around this weekend *P is ADHD and this won't be easy*. So, I need a way to tell J that doesn't make me look insane and a way/ideas to keep him busy but contained.
It is times like this I wish I could be the one there...I know I can't but I need a way to make J take me serious without seeming like a Drama Queen. Any ideas?

Re: My little man alonewith2: Make a copy of the discharge instructions that clearly states that he needs to take it easy.
Then add a list of things for him to do like:
1. Watch movies
2. Play board games
3. Puzzles
4. Coloring books
5. Reading books
6. Play Dough
7. Play with blocks
