First of all Goose, I'm sure you know better than to believe all the crap you read on the internet. Pro-life groups will twist facts how ever suits them and have everybody and their dog reading this shit. For the record, as most of you already know I AM "pro-life" ...for the most part, unless its an extreme case.
This is an emotionaly charged subject for me and I will step out of this thread once I've said this.
My sister had a "partial birth" abortion and I went through it every step of the way with her. She was at 26 weeks when she was diagnosed with brain cancer and her only option to survive was immediate surgery and ratiation/chemo, the works. The baby would NOT have had any chance of a life after going theough all this so her choices were....leave the cancer, have the baby and most likely die....or abort. She had 2 kids already to think about and chose to save herself, I support her 100% and NEVER want to hear anybody claiming that what she did was "evil" KISS MY ASS >:(
This is what actually happens....the mother is induced, labour begins, the doctors manipulate the baby to come out feet first and an injection is given in one of the legs, baby is now comotose and feels NOTHING....a cathader (sp?) is inserted in the base of the skull BEFORE the head is delivered and the brain is suctioned out, collapsing the skull before the delivery is complete.
Sad, yes, necessary at times? Absolutely. Cruel? I think not. If I knew my baby would be severely brain damaged and malformed, with no chance of any kind of "life"... I would want to put it out of its misery before it had a chance to take its first breath.
If my sister didn't have that option I KNOW she wouldn't have gone through with treatment and she would be dead now, leaving behind 2 children and a family who loves her.
There ARE times when this is the "best" option you are left with.....and to have people spouting off that the head is delivered, the baby is crying, and then its "stabbed" in the head being MURDERED..and the people who have no choice called evil..makes me want to puke. >:(

The right to kill the unborn has started down the path to making abortion in this country illegal. Right to lifer's get abortions when they find themselves with unplanned pregnancies. It's so sad when they have to cross the picket lines they once paraded in. I know and I've escorted enough women.
What kills me is how other people will get in your face and call names then at the end of the day go home and raise money to help other's interfere in someone else's business. Where are the right to lifers when single mom's need a sitter so they can work a minimum wage job? Where are they when the baby's sick and needs a doctor visit but mommy got no health insurance. Why can't the right to lifers march they ass into the public schools to help tutor english and math to the failing students who's parents are working multiple jobs to pay the to pay the bills.
Mommy got diabetes and lost her foot but had the baby who's "A- OK", never mind the stress on her body. Yeah I know.. it's the girls fault she was scared and hid her pregnancy from her parents the same way she hid the fact that she was date raped cause she was afraid. Sorry the law says that because you waited too long to face what is going on the law says you can't get that abortion.
Don't worry I'm certain the right wingers will get their way and drive abortions back into the dark alleys, back into the rear of make shift operating rooms in moving trucks. I'm sure a convenient trip to Mexico or Canada will get the job done if you can afford the ride and take the weekend off. Maybe a nervous boyfriend will google how to bend a hangar and mildly scrap the uterus himself. The day Bush leaves office if a cave man woke from his glacial coma the united states would appear like home given the accelerated backwards progress this country has made.
