Single Parenting and Kids Activities
.

Single Parenting and Kids Activities Peaceandquiet: So I was reading a friends blog tonight  ;).. and it made me think of my life over the past several years.  It seems that the schools and the activities that surround the school have some how forgotten that their are single parents out there in this world.. and that they may not just have one kid.. they may have two or more.

Here's one of my examples.. last year.. my son was in chorus my daughter was in a play.. one is in middle school.. the other elem.  Somehow my son't chorus show is the same night that my daughters play is.  And I am not the only one who has two kids in two different things at the same time.  So I have been going to all my son's events for years and he decided that he really didn't want me there (him being a teenager) so I have to dro him off at the high school for his gig.  We get there a tad bit early.. and as I walk into the room where it is being held I get yelled at by his teacher because the students are not supposed to be there yet..... yea you guessed it.. bad night to pick on PQ.. not only did I have to take off work early to get the kids dinner.. make sure they had everything for.. and iron pants which my son found at the last minute... ohh yea and pick up flowers for my daughter for after the play.. I had to have both kids at two different places at the same time.

So yea I had a smart ass comment to say whn she gave me the growl.. her response.. ohh well....

Ohh well.. so nice to hear.  Granted I know the teachers don't want to be living at the school all day and all night.. but could you for once not schedule stuff where we have to pick them up at five for two weeks straight.. last I heard Dolly was still singing 9 to 5 and that's still when most of us get off work.. then there is that lovely commute home.. after we stop by the store for dinner.. drop off the kids videos.. ohhh yea and maybe if we are lucky drive by the bank to pick up the $20 to pay for the Tshirt and after party that our kids get for them being in the play.

I am convinced that like my friend said.. these activities are scheduled by Mr and Mrs stay at home.

For once I would like some things scheduled around people that are just trying to pay the bills.
