Thanks so much! betteroffalso: I just wanted to thank you all so much. I think this board, with you all, will help me alot! It can be so hard sometimes. You really hit the nail on the head regarding instant gratification! If he wanted it, he had to have it no matter what! That is so him!! He does see our children, sporadically though. Thats OK with me because he is so unstable and that enviroment is so bad they are better off with me! I'm 29 4 months shy of 30. Any one else in the same age range with similar situations? I feel like I'm 30and having to just start life all over! I never thought I'd be in this place! I am going back to scholl now b/c before I was a stay at home mom supporting him while he was in school to better our family.!!! JERK!! Anyway, thanks again for making me feel so welcome!
Re:Thanks so much! whathef?: I'm here with a qualifying wife (age wise, she's 34)
I'm 43 and look forward to starting over and don't feel that's "too old".
So, that's why I'm here.
Man, to be in my 30's again!
But on the other hand, I wouldn't change a thing.
Everything we experience in life leads us to where we are today.
I have a great son, 21 who I raised since 2, and we both own a business here in town.
I couldn't possibly let my W get me down (for too long).
Life is too short and there's alot to do.
I'm in a small town and still find things to do. You guys in bigger cities have plenty of choices on things to do.
We have Walmart.
We don't even have a Starbucks, no Dunkin' Donuts....
But if you look, there's plenty to do.
I started dating soon after the split, maybe too soon, but it helped get my mind off the X.
Good luck on your journey. 30 ain't old.
:)
Re:Thanks so much! sadinct: whthef-
Glad to know I'm not the only one over 40! I confessed on my first visit here and was welcomed. Glad to hear that you're not finding things too difficult, as I seem to be comming closer and closer to starting things over. :(
I agree.. betterofsofar- I'd give a lolt to be thirty again. I think you'll do just fine (from your description of him, you'll be way better off without, and so will your children). Going back to school is a huge step in the right direction.
Wishing you of luck-
Doug
Re:Thanks so much! Shanna: I am 24, but starting over with two kids. I just wanted to welcome you to the Ojar. Glad you found us. I am doing much better wince I found this place even my mom noticed.
