Maybe it will help to hear from the "other side". I am in a very similar spot as maybe your wife is too. I dont drink but many days I want to. I feel numb and alone. I am afraid to talk to him because I am hurt and I dont want to hurt again..or more. Its easier not to talk then to risk more pain. I know I need time...time to heal and sort things out. This is not easy...on anyone..regardless of who did what, etc...we all have to come to terms with things in our own way. You just need to decide if its worth it to you to wait...sure its a risk...maybe she will decide to leave...but if its worth the wait, then maybe you should give her the space she is begging for. Nothing worth while comes to us easy... I hope this helped a little...

There is nothing I wouldn't do or risk, even if she just leaves in the end. She is hurting, but she's also hurting those around her. I feel helpless standing by watching, and being unable to do something. I know she is or has been cheating.... and still, I would do my best to get by it. I'm a bit old to be here- 41, we've been together 20 years. (I already fessed up and was welcomed here, thank God!). 41 is awfully old to start ver should it come to that.

I guess you're right- for the last many years, I've been trying unsuccessfully to be the person she wants (she dosen't know who that is), and somewhere along the way the person I actually am went underground...

What you say is she did she did not to kick you when you are down but what got you here bro I did drink not AA just enough to keep everyone at a distance well I thought I'd stop anytime and guess what I did guess what tooo late she had given up on me well I'm 4 month down the road she is here and we are going to counseling that is all I get deserved or not that is it. You maynot have been as bad as me but what ever it is it is inportant to her trust me on this. Step back give her space it will hurt and you will screwup you will I did but if it is worth it to you do it. You might find that it will help you too.
