invitation to an execution Matt: Hmmmm, interesting invitation came in the mail.. One that I never thought I would ever get in my life..And one I pray that I will never get again..
Its quite official looking.. I cant say I like the choice of stationary, but who am I to "judge"..
It seems the Circuit Court of the 17th Judicial Circuit in and for Broward County, Florida requests the pleasure of my attendance at an execution.
I've been given the solemn honor of giving the command at the killing..
The invitation further states that the party cant happen without me being there. Well, i'm touched...really... I'll have to dust off my best "funeral" suit and shine my shoes for this one. Perhaps a haircut is in order as well.. Oops, cant forget a nice hanky too...
Definately not Emily Post type wording:
"In view of the foregoing, this cause is now scheduled for a final hearing on October 11, 2004 at 8:45 a.m. before the undersigned Judge at the Broward County Courthouse, Room 358, Ft Lauderdale Fl"
"Failure to appear could result in a dismissal of this action, please act accordingly."
It doesnt mention if I can bring any guests.. Must have been an oversight on their part, oh well.. But, I'm sure there will be plenty of seats. So come along if you would like to..
You will get to watch me stand up and face the court from behind a cheesy oak table and after glancing at the accused, be asked by the judge to give the order.. After a brief preamble the weapon will be charged, aimed, and fired... Summarily executing a five and a half year marriage in a single, sharp, rap of a gavel... ( i'm sure it will sound like a rifle shot, so dont be alarmed..)
The bailiff and clerk will quickly whisk the body away.
Quite a party....
Drinks will be on me afterwards...... Who knows maybe we can ask the judge to go! Ironically she has my same last name, so it would be rude not too...
Either way it will be a party I wont soon forget....
