Looking for a VERY good book that will match me and my wife. Breggen: My wife told me a week ago, if I found a marriage help book, she would read it if I read it.
I am looking for a book that will help both of us. I plan to buy a copy and read it and then let her have to read too.
Lets say this is the ONLY one book she is really willing to read, so I need a good one.
Which one should it be. One to help us both.
(Quick back story. I played games alot after marriage, she felt alone and cheated. I didnt handle the cheating well and asked alot of questions; reminding her what she did wrong. I eventually pushed and pushed and she moved out with her parents. Now we are seperated. She said she feels like a divorce, but doesnt know.)
Re: Looking for a VERY good book that will match me and my wife. leigh: I found "Relationship Strategies : The E & P Attraction" by John Kappas very eye opening. His approach is to look at the different personality types as opposed to sex stereotypes. While the regular books (ie, Mars and Venus) use typical sex stereotypes, they tended to confuse the issues between my x and I because I usually identified with the male stereotype. This book looks at the differences in personalities, one being the "emotional" and one being the "physical" (and the label actually has to do with your defense mechanisms, not the one you identify with. I am an emotional because my defenses are all built around not being emotional). Anyway, if you read it and really look at how your partner tends to express love, affection, and their preferred way to interact, you could get a lot out of it. Of course, I'm on my way to divorce, so take it for what you will.
