How the F* did my address change again?!?!

How the F* did my address change again?!?! ColoMommy: ::rant on::

So, for the 5th time in about 2 months, I have found that addresses on accounts of mine have changed to the ex's address in Tennessee!  The end of June, it was the medical clinic even!  I don't know how that is because he moved back to Tennessee on November 16, 2005.  He's not been to the clinic for himself since.  We, on the other hand, have.  I found that 2 credit card addresses changed...An older utility bill I am paying on...And, today I found out that the address on file where my van loan is was changed at some point.  They couldn't tell me when or by whome.  The van isn't such a concern as I just pay it every month, it's expected.  But, what it does mean is that he's getting my statements for things.  I sure as hell know he isn't paying them!  I mean, this is bad because you should know what bills you pay every month but sometimes I am a little disorganized and if I don't have it in front of me, I forget it....So, HOW AND WHY are my addresses changed!?!?  I had a bad dream the other night that he'd been using my ssn to apply for credit all over...Time to pull my credit reports again, snakey little bast_rd.

Change them back and call them and tell them what is happening and get a lawyer and Get a Protective Order and File a Court Order saying he can not Mess with Your Mail or Face Contempt of Court and mail fraud and etc and etc and etc
:)

Re: How the F* did my address change again?!?! ColoMommy: I've changed them all back.  Each place states that they don't have record of when the address was changed or who did it since most are closed accounts I am making payments on.  The get a lawyer is the hard part...Single mom of two...No help/support.  I ahve looked for legal services and pro-bono attorneys for more important matters and in this area, they aren't easy to come by...

Pisses me off though!  How the hell would he change them...Or why even?!?!  The doctor's office told me maybe it was because of the insurance.  I asked her what they have on file and it's my insurance that I carry without him even listed on the policy.  I just don't get it!!  Irritating!  >:(  >:(  >:(
Re: How the F* did my address change again?!?! 1st fiddle: Check with your local post office and tell them what is going on.  Alot of times the "movers" accidently mark the change of addrress as a family move instead of individual.
It is worth looking into, although that may not be the problem.

This happened to me.  When my ex moved out of our home, she checked family accidentally.  Then it went on my credit report and all my creditors followed suit.  I feel sorry for her now ex-boyfriend because he's still probably getting things in my name. :p

You need to go into your credit report, check for change of addresses and contest the change of address.  As long as your current credit report has the wrong home address though, the 'computer' will keep sending things to the wrong place.  If you still have a problem after you've done that, talk to the people at the local post office and see what suggestions they have to get it BACK to your address.
