Can I use our home equity to pay for a lawyer? supermom: Does anyone know if I can use our homw equity to pay for my lawyer retainer? It's a large sum of money and I do not have enough in savings to cover the whole thing? After divorce does that debt get divided between us?Any thoughts?
Re:Can I use our home equity to pay for a lawyer? mmark: On recommendation from my lawyer I used ours during my process of separation for my lawyer fees and then moved the rest into a interest saving account to save it from being used on her relationship. I also used it to pay mortgage, childcare and other house hold utilities that she was not helping with.
