Re:Thank You Suddenly Single: I'm in on the random act of kindness. I teach at a not so great school with about 70% of our kids at the poverty level. Every day I try to remember to do something that will put a smile on a student's face.
I usually accomplish it because I have 130 students. It is not hard to find one nice thing to do but now my goal increases to try to do nice things for 5 students per period. Sometimes it is hard.
Today - a students was in the office - I didn't know him but he looked upset. I spent some time talking to him and gave him a pinch on his cute little chubby cheeks and he had the biggest smile afterwards. He asked me what my name was and said "see you later Miss ****" and smiled again. It was so warming - you could see it in his eyes that he needed that affection.
I LIVE to make those kids feel loved and give them hope for their future.
Re:Thank You lostinlife: Well, since it looks like only us three are in on this, I am going to put a post on the main board as a challenge to all the other ojarians.
Post your updates on that thread!

Re:Thank You Bug: Hey SS,
Kudos to you. I had a really rough childhood and before my parents pulled me out of school my teachers were the brightest things in my life. I am becoming a teacher because of them, I will never forget the small kindness I was shown by people who didn't have to acknowledge I existed. I am sure you make more difference then you will ever know. HUGS
