Now what do I do?

Now what do I do? DelinquentGurl: >:( Okay, my husband is the biggest idiot to ever roam the face of this earth.  Having said that, let me explain why.  This is the deal, we seperated 2 weeks ago and he keeps saying it's over, and he wants a divorce.  Fine.  Finally today I call some lawyers just to get a rough idea of what things are gonna cost me. (which is a fortune, by the way) but I have already decided that I am NOT going to be the one to file because it's going to cost me enough and I refuse to pay the filing fees.  Plus, if this is really what he wants then he can file.  I call him today and ask him when is he going to file, and he tells me he isnt going to file, he isnt going to pay for it.  I told him I am not filing, so if he dosent then we will never get divorced.  He tells me, "I have to talk to my lawyer" and I laughed in his face and said "You sound like an idiot, you dont have a lawyer."  He went and saw someone for a consultation, that dosent mean that is his lawyer.  He has to come up with 1800 in retainer fees first, and I know he dosent have that kind of money.  So now what do I do?  I cant do anything legally until he files, and every attorney I talk to is so expensive, not to mention they are not the friendliest and I dont want to spend a fortune on a lawyer that makes me feel like an idiot.  Does anyone have any advice for me??  I'm thinking he went and left before he really thought about what everything is going to cost him.  I dont know what to do from here.
Re: Now what do I do? Brian75034: I did a 'no-contest' divorce.  It was where ONE person hires the lawyer and represents that person.  As long as both you and your husband can agree how to split everything, there is no need for a second one.

My total ended up costing around $2k, I believe.
