Met with Old Friend...first love
.

Met with Old Friend...first love dj: This weekend was awesome. A few weeks ago, I decided to try and track down the woman who had been my first love, well, if you can call it love in first grade. I haven't seen her since the summer after we graduated from high school (16 years ago-my god did I just see that?). I found her phone number and just called. She was very excited to hear from me. Then, last week, she mentioned that she was going to be visiting her sister near me and wanted to know if I wanted to get together. Did I ever!

We met for dinner and drinks and spent almost 6 hours talking. It felt like almost no time had passed. I should mention that she is also divorcing so that topic came up more than once. But we laughed so much! All I can say is that I will NEVER lose this woman as a friend again! If we could be more...I would be very happy. If not, just to be able to share things like I am able to share with her will also be wonderful.

I learned a few things from her that I had forgotten, like how I was the first boy to ever kiss her, and she learned a few things about me...that I never stopped having feelings for her. It was just so great to be able to just hang out and talk to her again. Here's to many, many more nights just like that one! Anyway, thanks for letting me have a place to ramble about it!
Re:Met with Old Friend...first love twetifb: Congrats on a successful reunion! I've been there and I have experienced how wonderful it feels to see someone for the first time in years and have so much to share not to mention all the memories that resurface. It's a wonderful thing...enjoy it!!!

Re:Met with Old Friend...first love in_search_of: Isn't that the most fun in the world! Shortly after I started the divorce process, I was feeling lonely and friendless, and so I attempted to email a friend from my undergraduate, and whenI could not get the email to go through I decided that I would just call him. Love access to the old undergrad system...so I just did, expected to have to tell him who I was or something, but no, I said hey C this is R, and he just about jumped out of his skin telling me how happy he was to hear from me!

We have gotten together for lunch which was the best thing in my world at the time.

He was not my first love, but he was the person I should have married...I spent the whole time that I knew him convincing everyone that we were just friends (including myself) since I was dating the ex at the time! Even the ex knew that we should be together, he always was giving me crap about C, and how he was in love with me, and how I had a crush on him.

This is the person, who, if he called me tomorrow and said lets run off and get married, I would!
Re:Met with Old Friend...first love dj: ISO...exactly how I feel. I have always felt this way about this woman. Although I am proceeding with extreme caution as I really wouldn't want to lose her as a friend either. Besides...she may have to romantical interest toward me, we didn't get that far into the conversation, YET! ;D
Re:Met with Old Friend...first love in_search_of: you are so right on! I have never attempted anything more with this guy than friends, because I don't want to lose him as a friend!

Its a great feeling, though, to have THAT person back in your life again! Isn't it?
