Re:Met with Old Friend...first love Suddenly Single: When I first got divorced there was someone I wanted to get in contact with. I looked him up on the internet and the phone book. I tried calling only once, wrong number, looked him up again - got a new number then chickened out. He was someone I dated but afterwards had become a good friend to me - he would've stood up to my wedding if he didn't leave the country at the time. For many months I thought about him and would look him up now and again in case new info came up. The main reason I chickened out is that I think he is married now and I didn't want to mess with that because of their history. It is not that I think I wanted something with him but I wanted him back in my life in some capacity.
I've since then realized that there is a good reason why I couldn't get the right info and then chickened out and I think I'm ok with that. Sometimes it is better to leave the past in the past.
Things happen for a reason.
I'm so glad to hear of your story though! That sounds so fun and cute. I hope that you two do continue to talk!

Ok, not really, I am really really happy for him, he will be a wonderful husband, and knowing him, soon a wonderful father. And if she does not treat him right, then well, I will have to kill her!

Re:Met with Old Friend...first love down south xhubbie: I hope all of this is continuing to go well for you. Give us an update. Based on what I've read in other threads, you and I think alot alike. It seems that you would be a good person to have as a friend. She'll be a lucky gal. :)

We continue to talk on the phone and send emails back and forth. She had said when I first talked to her that she isn't a very good phone talker but she sure manages to talk my ear off. :D
Both of our divorces are likely to become final at nearly the same time, which is kind of funny to me anyway. She has bought a new house and will be moving in next month just before christmas. I have offered to help her move, we'll see.
From our conversations, this relationship is likely to remain platonic which is just fine with me. As I said before, she is a wonderful friend and she always will be that. I will continue to update as the situation develops because I will never say never.
