Family not supportive of reconciliation
.

Family not supportive of reconciliation exwife03: I am at wits end.  I am picking up my life, moving closer to my husband and am totally committed to working out this marriage.  His family is very very against this.  They refuse to believe him when he tells them that he too screwed up and it took both of us to mess up our marriage.  Now we both want to fix it and have no support from his side of the family.  THIS IS THE SAME AUNT AND UNCLE WHO SEPARATED FOR OVER A YEAR AND MADE IT THROUGH IT, THE SAME AUNT AND UNCLE (ANTOHER ONE) WHO SEPARATED WHEN IT WAS FOUND HE CHEATED ON HER AND YET MADE IT THREW IT, AND THE SAME FATHER (OF HIS) WHO HAS BEEN MARRIED AND DIVORCED TWICE AND IS NOW ON MARRIAGE NUMBER 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My husband is very very close to his family and I am so scared they will convince him to let me go for good.  I don't know what to do  :'(
Re: Family not supportive of reconciliation Sunny1971: ex, Unfortunately, that is going to happen. I don't know why people feel they need to be involved in others lives...I have not spoken to my sister since Thanksgiving because she disagrees with my attempted reconciliation with my husband. I was very open to all of her criticism but I reached a point of no return...I told her that she was more than entitled to her opinions but that I didn't need to hear them, that I was a 31 year old woman and could think for myself, and that when she could walk in my shoes than I would want to hear her opinion....other than that, I told her to keep it to herself. It is unfortunate that I have to esentially choose between my husband and my sister. Sorry but it seems like there is one in every family. good luck.

Re: Family not supportive of reconciliation barelybreathing: They are irrelevant.  Just try to continue to use all yoru energy towards your marriage.

In time it will all work itself out......
Re: Family not supportive of reconciliation dangergirl: Here here BB.  They are irrelavent.

Wish I could take that advice.  My family doesn't even know that I still talk to the ex.  I don't want their undue influence so I am just keeping them out of the loop for a while.
