Re:Sticky Situation?? down2basics: Newman - seems like I too have read an article which said basically the same thing. A united front is imperative or your children will smell blood and attack...so to speak. If they spot a weakness in the front...they will exploit it everytime.
I do not correct my bf in front of my kids because of this unspoken rule...I know how they'll react...so, I wait until he and I are alone, then sever his liver! *L* Which is something I did while I was married too....so, I understand and appreciate this principal.
I do appreciate you sharing this with me though and for caring enough to post. I appreciate any and all input on this subject...as my kids like you, are first in my life....ALWAYS.

Re:Sticky Situation?? KBEAR: Just had to add my two cents worth. When my stbx began ragging on my son, I tried the quiet and wait and see attitude. We fought over it in provate, but never got anywhere. It is 8 years later and it has only gotten worse. He now tries to have those fights in front of my son. He speaks as if he isn't there. Be very careful. I know that my son has been hurt in the past. Unfortunately I didn't know this is how it would be until after we were married for a couple of years. There wouldn't have been a wedding if it had happened before. As I said, just my two cents worth.

Well...bf is gone - for the past five months now...couldn't take his unrelenting badgering of my son. He had to go!
As for my son - I'm about to put him in therapy. He's self confidence is shot and it's effecting his everyday life. I can't seem to pull him out of it. Now, with me working so much, it's making it worse...so...I'm seeking professional help...crossing my fingers! :-[
