Re:Everquest II Bug: Nice it sounds fun, yeah in the old EQ you could spend quite a while just running to where you were trying to go, Oh and trying not to die while getting there LoL. Do you still have to retrieve your body when you die? Or is everything soul bound? Can you customize clothing?
Re:Everquest II brokenman: When you die you leave a "soul shard" on the ground. You don't have to retrieve it, but you should. If you don't retrieve it you lose some stat points and your equipment is damaged a little. You also have an experience penalty. If you retrieve the shard, you only suffer 50% of the experience penalty. All other penalties are erased. (You don't loose experience, it nullifies the next few points of experience you gain.)
And you can customize clothing.
Re:Everquest II Bug: Do they make it easy to find your soul shard? Im sure playing everquest you often heard the "Has anyone seen my corpse?" I have spent hours looking for bodies so that I would not lose my equipment. Odd your equipment is damaged but is fixed if you get the shard? dang it now you are making me want to play LoL good thing Im too poor to buy the game :)
Re:Everquest II brokenman: I should add these points FYI.
You can have up to 10 soul shards on the ground at a time. If you leave them for 3 days they disappear. If you already have 10 shards on the ground and you die again you automatically suffer the penalties with no chance to redeem yourself.
Also, if you are in a group, when you die the penalty is divided up evenly by the whole party. I guess they are at fault for letting you die. And it makes sense because you share the gains from defeating the enemy.
No one else can touch your soul shard. There is no corpse looting. You cannot ressurect from a shard, but you can raise the dead if they have not respawned.
Re:Everquest II brokenman: Remember the Find command with the wispy trail pointing your direction? You automatically get one leading to your shard.
You can also mend your equipment by way of an NPC mender.
