Re:I really HATE my MIL lostinlife: Ooooo - I'll trade the mallet for the tenderizer! That would be much more satisfying!!!

Re:I really HATE my MIL down south xhubbie: ditto on the comment from Gulfcoast. It's almost always a bad idea.

We lived about 40 yards from my inlaws. Fortunately, I was able to hold my tongue on many occasions.

Her mom tends to take over everything. She and her two sisters also tend to think that all men are idiots.

although the mother and son M-I-L situation is very much played up on t.v shows along with movies, mothers also can wreak havoc when they try to live through their daughters or control the lives of their grandchildren.

My family, bless their hearts, knew that I was in for trouble at the wedding. I was "in love" and didn't notice any of it. My father in law was a wonderful photographer. She told my mom to "keep an eye on him" while he took the wedding photos. Also, she called down my friends for getting too much bird seed ::), but they watched my wife's brother grabbed several cups of the seed to pour down my shirt.

When she tried to constantly interfere in our lives, my wife would say, "she means well". :(
Re:I really HATE my MIL lostinlife: I have no intention of moving that close to them. If I am asked, the answer is an absolute no. The house that I am moving into is about an hour away from them. With or without their help. Raymond is funny, but who really wants to live it???

Thanks all!

Your hubby needs to tell your MIL to back off trust me I have a mom and the only way is if he steps in and dose something I have found I deal better with my mom and to be honest it makes it easer for my wife. Lets just say that is one thing that I'm sure she is happy about
