chrysalis
.

chrysalis inthemiddle: Suspended in my dark cocoon
I wait for life to begin.

With belly dragging
I encased myself
in these dark, silky threads
made from tears and sorrow.

Once inside,
I wallowed in the darkness
lamenting the past.

On occasion,
my refuge would shake
from outbursts of fear and indignation.

The walls now grow thin
and are ready to burst.
Stretched to their limits
by the size of my strength.

I spread my wings
and prepare to fly.
