Bad Day for No Good Reason! lifechange: Hey Guys,
I really seem to be stuck in a rut these last few days. The sad thing is nothing has really happened that I can attribute it to....just a bad mood?
I know everyone usually posts w/specific issues, but does anyone just get in a down mood for no reason. I am starting to fear depression's ugly face peaking around the corner. HELP :(

Re:Bad Day for No Good Reason! favoriteangel2003: LC,
Although today IS a bad day for a good reason...I want to tell you to take time...you are mourning the loss. That is exactly what you are doing. Try to think happy thoughts! ;) I think in time you are going to be just fine...I can only imagine this being normal considering what you are going through. BUT if it is really starting to interfere with daily living to the point of not being able to function clearly...I might be more concerned and take it more seriously and maybe go in and get checked out.
I hope you start to have a good day for a good reason! :)
Re:Bad Day for No Good Reason! lifechange: The really funny part (if there is one) is that I saw the doc today and felt worse afterwards, lol. Gotta love therapy :D

Re:Bad Day for No Good Reason! marfanoidus: Angel is right - you have to dwell on positive thoughts. I speak from experience and cannot stress enough how common depression is like a fungus - it can only survive in specific environments.
If you force yourself to have a positive mental environment you will make (common) depression keep at bay.
Make a list of at least one thing each day you will have to look forward to, and then make them happen. Go out with friends, make a fun food, excercise, set time to read or garden - whatever it is you can look forward to and enjoy.
good luck to you,
walt
Re:Bad Day for No Good Reason! jen: Sadly, I think it's normal. I can be going along okay for a little while, then for what seems like no good reason, slide into melancholy. Usually, after a while I am able to shake it off by MAKING myself go do or plan to do something, preferably something fun.
well, at least you can still see the funny part... humor, even bad humor, tends to help me see things in a different light ;)
