Re:Scared to live on my own wdotzler: This is my first time living on my own and I was scared out of my mind. I worried how things were going to work out and how I was going to be able to afford things. Well so far so good. It's an adjustment but I'm doing it. Coupon clipping, budgeting, and saving what I can. Keep your head up cuz it can be done. I've got three kids, two dogs, two cats, and the main thing is we've got a roof over our head, food in our fridge, and clothes on our back. So just hang in there. ;)
Re:Scared to live on my own amola: i've gone through alot of this. my ex and i bought a house in 5/04 and then i filed for divorce in 10/04 and it was just final a couple of weeks ago. i got the house, but i also got the mortgage along with it....
i stressed and fretted over it for a couple of weeks, but once my ex and i worked out the arrangements with the kids, i was able to get a second job. it doesn't pay much, but the couple extra hundred bucks every month helps out alot. plus, it gets me out of the house, which is a good thing because i work from home during the day and don't get out and get a lot of human interaction.
basically the way that it works out, my "real" paycheck from my full time job pays the bulk of the bills, and then the little paychecks from my "fun" job pay for groceries and any other bills that i have. it works out great, and it just makes me feel better that i am doing it all on my own. i've managed to make 3 house payments by myself and it's a great feeling.
if you can do it, get another job......it helps!!
good luck!
:)

Re:Scared to live on my own ddrip: I am fixing to have to do the same thing. I am really scared as well. I have never been on my own. Met him in High School and now I have to start on my own. It is frightening. God will look out for us all though.
Re:Scared to live on my own i_sing_alone: I'm lucky in that my parents let me stay in a rinky-dink house-trailer (aka mobile home) with no rent.
However, things are tight. I budget EVERYTHING. I never spend change- it goes into a jar for "savings" and is spent on special things- going out for icecream, etc.
I don't have cable, but I do have internet. I use my internet to sell things on eBay and Amazon, which pays my bills.
