Re: OJar around Washington Tlee: So glad to hear you are doing well! I only hope that in 2 months when my divorce is final I can have the same optimism. :)
I'm going out tonight. Should be fun. I never went out when I was married. I maybe went downtown twice every 6 months, well a little more during Mariner Season. Getting back into the bar sceen is rough. Its going to take me a while to ween myself back in! Not that I want to become a regular, but it doesn't hurt to start having a little fun :)
Re: OJar around Washington dave13: Does anyone have any tips for relocating to Seattle. I am trying to line up a job right now and have been browsing apartment ads but I need any advice I can get. I am pretty much familiar with downtown and thats it.
Re: OJar around Washington Tlee: It really depends on your personality and what type of neighborhood you want to live in. I have lived on the "Eastside" almost my entire life. I lived in the Capital Hill neighborhood for a year. You have have to be very open minded to live there, but it was a great experience. :)
I would suggest Queen Anne, pricey but nice. If you want to live right downtown Belltown is the place to be. West Seattle is also good.
If you want to live in suburbia I would suggest Bellevue or Kirkland. It has a rep for being snobby but you can find a nice place for a semi-reasonable price if you look hard enough, plus you are still only 15 minutes from downtown. However, getting over the bridges in rush-hour is not fun.
Good Luck :)
Re: OJar around Washington SunshineAfterRain: Hey y'all ~ here is another fellow Washingtonian except i am across the state from you guys. I agree to the sunshine comment ~I am ready !! Its sunny and 60 here today. And tomorrow is suppose to be warmer. When i left my ex, it was 2 years ago and i left sunny California behind. My family is all here so this is where i wanted to be. I have never lived in the seattle area, however i have been there several times ! As far as the bar scene comment ~ how did that go. I have done that one several times, its great to go out with friends and dance and let your hair down a bit and if i get enough liquid courage in , you might even hear me sing kareoke 8) but as far as the bar, i am not really into it that much ~just the time spent with friends is great ! Well i will wrap it up by saying this is a pretty cool site, i have only made 3 posts i think, but there is some interesting reading too . Its all so real.
Take care
Re: OJar around Washington Tlee: Hi Sunshine, it's always nice to have another local :)
Ah the bar scene. I would have to agree with you. I enjoy having some drinks and laughs with friends. I don't go out searching for men in bars thats for sure!
I have an interseted buyer in my house. I am hoping he will make an offer in the next couple days. I have not yet decided what area I want to move to. But I do plan on moving closer to the city.
Its been 2 years for you huh? I can only dream of what my life will be like 2 years from now.
