What keeps you connected? cadillacjack: Part1)To the wonderful people here who have been left behind (or forced to leave) and are hurt; what keeps you emotionally connected to the "leaver"? money, kids, the house etc. are kinda obvious answers, go deeper... Maybe if somebody can explain that, maybe I/we can get a better understanding of our own psyches?
Part 2) I read years ago in Penthouse magazine (yes I actually READ Penthouse) that somebody polled 100 psychiatrists and asked them "What was the most common question their patients asked?" . Take a guess as to what it was? I'll post soon ...sooner if somebody gets it right!
Re:What keeps you connected? amess: Our matching imagos, for one. The dreams, hopes, wishes left unfulfilled................ they way you thought your life was going to always be, with that person in it, LOVE, habit, rejection which can result in obsession if the person who was rejected is unstable, the unanswered why's, hurt, and the shock of finding your life completely altered, with no control over it.
BTW, I do like the way Escalades look, but they just scream " Rebublican", which is why I could never drive one.
Re:What keeps you connected? cadillacjack: Great answer.....Up here in oil rich Alberta an Escalade doesn't really say anything about politics, just how good your doing....besides it's a glorified Suburban....now a Hummer on the other hand.....
Re:What keeps you connected? devochic: Love, the hope of continued dreams, and the thought I truely believed this person was my soulmate, how could I be soooo wrong.
In addition the lack of closure, the difficulty of accepting "the truth".
And I miss my best friend.
Re:What keeps you connected? simon 17: most asked question? i'll venture a guess...
if it has to do with a spouse that left, possible question could be...will we get back? or will he/she call me or make an effort to contact me?
if it has nothing to do with a spouse, possible question could be...am i wrong to feel this way or should i feel this way or what do you think? (most likely one)...
