I agree to this somewhat but in saying that I feel largely stereotypical of males. I have been in management and I also have my MBA. Those two things have caused some men to admit to me later they felt they didn't have a chance. During my marriage my ex would oftentimes admit he felt inadequate because I had this high level job and two degrees and he couldn't measure up. I think he always felt I was the more attractive, more intelligent of the two of us and it was hard for him. Well, I don't say I think because he voiced that concern many times. It's interesting the girls he cheated on me with ... lower education level, lower job status, less attractive (at least to me), etc. It seems I hear that a lot from people (men and women) that when their ex leaves the marriage they leave for people that are considerably different (job, wealth, looks) than their spouse. It's just dependent on your level of insecurity.
