December 32nd

December 32nd marc_ro: I for one am glad this year is over, it's been pretty dull.

in 2004 I:
got divorced, moved into a new apartment, totaled my car and got my first new truck, bought my first ipod (and a mac to go with it), got 13 stitches in 2 ER trips (4 and 9), had a hurricane land 100 miles away from me for my birthday, lost my father to cancer, quit smoking after 12 years, helped my best friend who grew up here move 1000 miles away (in the middle of *another* hurricane), shaved off the goatee I've had for 8 years, jumped out of a perfectly good airplane, met what feels like hundreds of people including a handful of special ones (ok, all women) and had sex exactly once.

but hey, it's not midnight yet :P

happy new year
-Marc
Re:December 32nd jjbswest: NOw you have me thinking what all has happened in my life in 2004. I lost my 3 year old niece in an auto accident, found out something very depressing about my father, separated from my stbx after 12 years of marriage, actually caught him the day before our 12th anniversary. What a sucky year. We all deserve better in 2005! Happy New Year Everybody!

Re:December 32nd jason: Amen brother !

My wife left me, I bought a new truck, sold the farm, wrote a BIG cheque to my ex, gave my dogs to my mother for safekeeping, moved to a different country, and drank a whole bunch of whiskey....hell except for prison and trains, I believe I lived the perfect country and western song !

However, I also fell in love again (LONG story), bought a new home, got a new job, and inherited 4 horses, 3 dogs and 2 cats. So I also lived the antithesis of the perfect country and western song. And the sex life is a HELL of a lot better than it was at the beginning of 2004, or, sadly, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, etc., etc., 8)

The best of times and the worst of times all combined in the same year. Not sorry to lay 2004 to rest !

May 2005 bring us better things !

Jason
Re:December 32nd jason: Oh yeah, and just as an aside, I got a damn divorce, too!

LOL....very loudly !
Re:December 32nd JTS: I don't know. I really can't say that 2004 was all that bad. It was in 2003 that I found out about the ex's boyfriend, and the second one, and all of the lies that she had fed me. In 2004 I finalized my divorce, kept my house, learned how strong I really am, found a new peace within myself, discovered OJAR, met some incredible people, and found someone that has the ability to take my breath away. Yeah, I got the typical male financial screwing in the settlement and there was the day my ex showed up to kick the crap out of me but there were many good things that happened too. Still I must agree that I am glad 2005 is here...a whole new year filled with new possibilties. Happy New Year everyone!!!
